Assistant to the CEO
When I joined the Paige Mead Recruiting team in 2020, this was my first experience in the realm of recruiting, but not my first foray into the dental industry. My mom began her career in dental sales before I was born. Models and molds of teeth surrounded my car seat, and I have very early and dear memories of her sales career.
After graduating from WSU, I completed an internship in marketing and copywriting for a managed service provider whose main clientele happened to be Dentists, and I thought I knew the industry. Being a part of Paige’s team has offered a unique perspective. I have the privilege of working with people from all walks of life who, for one reason or another, have found careers in the niche industry of Dental. It’s opened my eyes to the possibilities.
In addition to launching my new career with Paige in the last 18 months, I’ve become a wife, homeowner and mother, 4 of 5 identity-changing life events, I’ve learned. As a result, I find myself trying to balance in a place of discovery as it relates to who I am now and who I’m becoming.
Going through these rapid changes in relation to priority and identity, has enabled me to empathize with our candidates and the crises that job changes, lay-offs and company events can initiate. It’s made me recognize that it’s not easy to go through an interview process; to leave the companies we invest our lives in; to join a new organization where we’ll perpetually be the “new kid” until the next new employee hires on. I think it adds another layer of understanding to my interactions with our candidates and a newfound respect for their courage when reaching out to us.
